Megan Davis Lightman is an accomplished organizational transformation consultant
and chief executive with over two decades of experience in helping numerous
business leaders and boards of directors with critical strategic decisions that had
a tremendously positive impact down the road. Her continuous success in meeting
the needs of growing and changing businesses in some of the most challenging
environments have distinguished Megan as a leading expert in

Currently, Megan is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Davis Consulting Group, Inc., a leading organizational development consulting firm that provides strategic guidance to Boards of Directors and leadership teams across the US. Since 1995, Megan has assisted numerous Fortune 500-1000 companies and reputable non-profit organizations realize their strategic goals. Her clients include the University of Arizona Health Network, the UA College of Medicine, Long Realty (A Berkshire Hathaway Company), Contact One Call Center, California Family Health Council, Valley Metro Rail, Inc., Affiliated Risk Management Systems, the Sonoran Institute and Research Corporation for Science Advancement and numerous others. Megan leads a team of 35 highly accomplished specialist consultants who work directly with the firm’s client leaders and boards across the US on high-value projects. During her tenure, Megan has been instrumental in a number of critically important strategic planning efforts and deals including the largest healthcare merger in Southern Arizona that resulted in the creation of a $1.2 billion healthcare network.
Megan began her career in Washington D.C. as an account executive, account manager and consultant to several national organizations, including both The Widmeyer Group and Ogilvy & Mather. During her time with these organizations, she was instrumental in helping them develop internal and external communication strategies, conducting strategic planning, and working on several high profile issues in areas such as social policy, social justice and national education policy via both public relations and public affairs for a host of national and international clients.
In addition to her executive career, Megan serves and has previously served on several local, regional and national advisory boards and boards of directors. She is currently a board member of Smithbucklin and has served on the advisory board of the Bank of Tucson and Women at the Top, where she also served as President for two years. She was appointed by Arizona’s Governor, Janet Napolitano to the Arizona Humanities Council. Megan has served as a member of the University Of Arizona Women’s Studies Advisory Council (WOSAC). She served as a Statewide Board Member for Planned Parenthood of Arizona, as Board Chair at Planned Parenthood of Southern Arizona, as a board member for the Jewish Community Relations Council for the Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona and a Chair and Executive Committee Member of Make a Difference Day. She proudly served as a member of the Finance Committee for Congresswoman Gabrielle re-election campaign.
Chief amongst her achievements in the boardroom, however, Megan has been a Trustee of the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona. In this role, Megan served on the executive committee, chaired a committee to revamp the board’s governance and nominating processes, and co-led the CEO search committee and transition process, in addition to multiple initiatives key to fulfilling the board’s responsibilities in strategic planning.
Megan’s achievements have earned her a number of honors, awards and recognitions throughout her career, including the Citizen Activist Award by Planned Parenthood Arizona, the Meritorious Service Award of the Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona and a National Award and Grant for the Make a Difference Day by USA Today and the Paul Newman Foundation. She has been named as one of Tucson’s 10 Most Influential Women by Inside Tucson Business and recognized by Tucson Business Edge as One of Tucson’s 40 Under 40 Top Business and Community Leaders. Megan won the Board Leader of the Year Leadership Award, by the Volunteer Center of Southern Arizona.
Throughout her career, Megan has given numerous speeches for professional organizations, as well as at an impressive number of organizational retreats and annual meetings. She has been a Guest Lecturer and Facilitator for the National Institute of Pension Administrators and has also given several speeches at national, regional and local association networking meetings.
Megan Davis Lightman obtained her Bachelors of Arts in Political Science from Tulane University. She holds a Master of Science in Organizational Development (MSOD) degree from Loyola University Chicago. Megan is married to Steven Lightman, President of Harry and David. They live in Medford, Oregon and have three fabulous adult children all pursuing their professional dreams.
